Cairo by Mohamed Gaber and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino is a contemporary Arabic-Latin typeface that achieves an unusually harmonious balance between the two scripts, drawing on Kufi geometric principles for the Arabic and a clean humanist sans-serif for the Latin. The variable font offers both slant and weight axes — the slant axis being particularly notable, as Arabic typically does not use oblique forms in the same way Latin does, making this an experimental design choice.
