حول Noto Sans Lepcha
Noto Sans Lepcha supports the Lepcha (Róng) script, an indigenous writing system used by the Lepcha people of Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Bhutan, notable for its complex stacking and conjunct consonant system rooted in the Tibetan calligraphic tradition. The single-weight design accurately encodes this relatively rare Brahmic script, which is critically endangered along with the Lepcha language itself. It is an important digital tool for Lepcha language activists, linguists, and the broader effort to preserve indigenous scripts of the eastern Himalayas.
