Über uns Fraunces
Fraunces by Undercase Type is a "wonky" optical serif with four distinct variable axes — weight, optical size, softness (SOFT), and wonkiness (WONK) — the last two being custom axes that let designers dial in the degree of visual irregularity and softness in the letterforms, making it one of the most characterful variable fonts available. Inspired by early twentieth-century American display type and poster lettering, it carries a nostalgic warmth with unexpected contemporary flair. It is ideal for editorial headlines, literary branding, and experimental layouts where the typeface itself is part of the storytelling.
