Idiqlat by SIL International is a scholarly serif typeface supporting the Syriac script, one of the world's oldest continuously used writing systems, with roots in the Aramaic alphabet of ancient Mesopotamia. The three-weight family provides the typographic range needed for Bible translations, liturgical texts, and academic publications in Eastern Christianity traditions including Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac Orthodox communities. SIL's deep expertise in minority language typography ensures the design meets both the aesthetic conventions and technical encoding requirements of modern Syriac publishing.
