Ponnala, designed by Appaji Ambarisha Darbha, is a display typeface for the Telugu script that brings a decorative, festive energy to its letterforms through slightly rounded corners, generous proportions, and a warm visual weight. Telugu's complex conjunct character system is handled with care, ensuring that even in its display register the font remains functional for actual Telugu text. It excels in signage, poster design, and title cards for Telugu-language media where visual celebration is as important as linguistic clarity.
