PT Sans was commissioned by the Russian Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications as part of the Public Types of the Russian Federation project, making it a typeface with explicit civic purpose. Designed by ParaType, it covers both Latin and an extensive Cyrillic range, serving the linguistic needs of dozens of languages across Russia and Eastern Europe. The design balances humanist warmth with the neutrality expected of a workhorse typeface intended for government and educational publications.
Design Analysis
PT Sans is a humanist sans-serif originally commissioned for the public types of the Russian Federation, with extensive Cyrillic support.
