About Jaini Purva
Designed by Ek Type, Jaini Purva is a display typeface that takes inspiration from historical Devanagari manuscript letterforms, specifically the Jain manuscript tradition with its characteristically angular, compressed, and highly decorated letterforms. The bold, almost woodblock quality of the strokes makes it ideal for headlines, cultural events, and editorial display where visual weight and historical resonance are desired. It celebrates a specific strand of Indian typographic heritage often overshadowed by modern standardized Devanagari.
