About Montaga
Alejandra Rodriguez designed Montaga as a single-weight old-style serif with a refined, classical structure — moderate stroke contrast, bracketed serifs, and slightly inclined stress — that recalls the humanist book types of the 16th-century Italian printing tradition. The result is warm and literary, suited to extended reading in bodies of text where a historical but not archaic feel is desirable. Works well for longform editorial, literary journals, and book interiors.
