About Playwrite NZ Basic
Playwrite NZ Basic is TypeTogether's curriculum-compliant handwriting font for New Zealand schools, adhering to the basic print letterforms taught before joined script is introduced. Burian and Scaglione's design carefully replicates the unjoined letter models used in NZ foundation literacy programs, and the variable weight axis allows educators to control stroke contrast in printed worksheets. It doubles as a clean, informal typeface for projects requiring an approachable handwriting aesthetic.
