About Playwrite US Trad
Designed by TypeTogether's Veronika Burian and José Scaglione, Playwrite US Trad is a variable handwriting font that reproduces the traditional American cursive taught in schools, with a variable weight axis spanning four stops. The design is grounded in educational penmanship models, making it appropriate for instructional materials, nostalgia-driven branding, and personal stationery that references the handwritten American tradition. The variable weight allows expression from light copperplate to fuller, more formal cursive.
