About Romanesco
Astigmatic's Romanesco is a calligraphic italic script face inspired by the historical cancellaresca hand — the elegant slanted cursive developed by Italian Renaissance scribes for chancery correspondence and manuscript production. The letterforms are formal but fluid, with pen-constructed strokes that display convincing axis variation and historically informed letterform details. It works well for book titling, certificates, editorial display, and any design context calling for Renaissance scholarly elegance.
