Shantell Sans, created collaboratively by artist Shantell Martin and Arrow Type, is built directly from Martin's distinctive hand-drawn lettering style and features four custom variable axes — Bounce (BNCE), Informality (INFM), Spacing (SPAC), and weight — enabling a remarkable spectrum from calm and measured to loose and expressive. Cyrillic and Vietnamese support make it broadly applicable in multilingual contexts. Designed for creative education, accessibility applications, and expressive branding, it challenges conventional distinctions between handwriting and display type.
