Almarai is a contemporary Arabic sans-serif commissioned for the Almarai food company and later open-sourced, making it one of the few professional Arabic typefaces with permissive licensing for digital use. Mourad Boutros and Boutros Fonts designed its four weights — Light, Regular, Bold, ExtraBold — with legibility at small screen sizes as the primary criterion. The rounded, simplified Arabic letterforms share an approachable warmth that makes it particularly appropriate for consumer-facing Arabic-language digital products.
