About Noto Serif Gurmukhi

Gurmukhi is the script of Punjabi, used as the primary writing system for Sikh scripture including the Guru Granth Sahib, and today is the official script of the Indian state of Punjab. Noto Serif Gurmukhi provides a serif counterpart to the sans-serif Gurmukhi designs, with a nine-step variable weight axis from Thin to Black, giving publishers the full range of typographic expression for Punjabi books, newspapers, and liturgical materials. The serif register lends authority and readability appropriate for long-form religious and literary texts.
