Noto Serif JP covers Japanese typography within the Noto project's mission of harmonious cross-script consistency, providing serif mincho-style letterforms for Japanese alongside Latin, Cyrillic, and Vietnamese. The variable weight axis spans eight stops, allowing fine-grained control over typographic density in the complex, stroke-rich environment of kanji composition.
