Ultra by Astigmatic is an extremely heavy slab-serif display typeface with pronounced bracketed serifs and maximum optical weight — it occupies space with theatrical confidence. The single-weight design is unapologetically single-purpose: short, powerful headlines, poster text, or logotype treatments where sheer visual mass is the desired effect. Its DNA sits somewhere between nineteenth-century wood type and mid-century American commercial lettering.
